Florentine in Florence

A biscuit.
One legend has it that a master confectioner created them at Versailles, in the kitchens of King Louis XIV of France, in honour of the Medicis of Florence when they popped in for tea one afternoon. Another equally likely story has them made by Austrian bakers.

As for my own Florentine story it was quite some time ago that I visited that, extremely hyped of cities, so I'm wracking my brains a bit. I remember the situation vividly though. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Cafe De La Prix which I spotted on google street view, though the name would have been appropriate, as the latter part suitably describes the guys who worked there ripping off tourists, charging ludicrous prices and being generally obnoxious.
